Scooters are a great way to get close to the elk in Estes Park.
This year, we started doing Scooter Rentals. On the very first day, we decided to take em out on a photo shoot for the website. This happened in the first 5 minutes: (see the elk?)
There's nothing like being only feet away from the wildlife. Especially a big bull elk passed out from the exhaustion of rut.
It seems to be a common thing running by the elk and not scaring them away on a scooter. Plus, you can easily pull off the road in order to get some good shots like Alyssa and I did here with some bulls on the other side of the lake.
My passion in life is riding fast and hard. It doesn't matter if it's in a Razor or on a dirt bike. But, I'll tell you what, every time I get out on a scooter, I seem to have such a kick ass time, full of cool experiences.
We rent the Honda Ruckus scooters that don't require a motorcycle license. They're easier than riding a bike, but a hell of a lot more fun. With these Ruckus scooters, you can even go off-road. The knobby tires provide decent traction and the suspension soaks up most of the bumps. Personally, I love getting off-road on one., especially with some buddies. It's pretty easy to get stupid.
Estes Park is probably the best place anywhere for whipping around on a scooter like this. There are a ton of cool back roads, dirt roads, and attractions to check out, not to mention downtown and the Lake Estes.
It's funny, we see a lot of guys try to wimp out, thinking it's for the girls. I'll admit, I was one of them until I started doing it.
Give it a try, you're gonna love it.
